The heart in Jesus
Once again my friends sharing a short homily. Today we listened to the prophet Jeremiah with a beautiful reading. Where he shows how wonderful it is to live trusting in the Lord. And on the contrary those who trust in the vanity of man, suffer for having put their trust there. Then in the second reading we listen to St. Paul, who tells us the foundation of our faith in Jesus. St. Paul does not give great arguments, but one fact that proves our faith in Jesus, that fact is the resurrection. He shows with the resurrection of Jesus that our faith in him goes beyond the temporal, but is eternal, just like the resurrection. Sam Paul continues to invite us to live in full trust in Jesus.
Today we have also heard a version of the Beatitudes, but this time in the Gospel of Luke. Where now the evangelist also shows that there is great comfort in living with a heart full of God, full of his righteousness and his love. But he also shows how unfortunate it is to set one's heart on very vain things, which only satisfy for the moment and which at the end of the day leave a great emptiness in the heart.

Reading and meditating on these readings I remembered that some years ago when I was in my spiritual year, that we missionaries of Guadalupe do between philosophy and theology. And I was with my companions and friends in the group, there were 5 of us, and I remembered that in a conversation with our formator, he asked us what was important for us, what we had in our hearts that gave us reasons? Evidently we said, vocation, mission, family etc. Each of my companions and I shared our thoughts that day. Father commented finally: meet God and let your heart be content with him.
For the moment I didn't give it much importance and continued my programme, until I went to a spiritual exercise and in one of the writings which I read, I can summarize that the most important thing in life was to find God. This encounter would give origin and foundation to our daily life. Because we would go through life with a heart full of God. And therefore our hearts would not be deceived by the simple things that might leave only a temporary satisfaction and not an eternal one like meeting God.

Jesus never ceases to be amazed that he finds in people that seed of God in their hearts, that makes them live in fullness, that they find happiness in the right way. And today Jesus shows in these beatitudes, that happiness will not depend on people, or on temporary events, material things that are pleasant but short in our life. On the contrary, the beatitudes are a call to convert us to seek happiness on the right path. And what are those things or that way? Jesus also shows it with the warning to the rich, the gluttonous, the proud and the arrogant. It is better to have and share with the poor, than those rich or better off who think they are superior and have not put their heart in God, in the same way the proud and arrogant, have not let themselves be touched by God and go through life with the idea of their own self-satisfaction, without forgetting that man is magnified when he entrusts his life to God.

Therefore, dear friends, I would like to invite you to put our hearts in Jesus, that the happiness of things do not enrage us and keep us away from living close to Jesus, that we fill our hearts with his presence and that we go through life sharing. I end with this phrase that says: Whoever carries Jesus in his heart, brings paradise with him everywhere. May you continue to have an excellent Sunday and greetings in Jesus the missionary of the Father.
